Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

FuerteJob ("we", "us") is a web application operated by an independent developer based in the Canary Islands, Spain, and available at fuertejob.com. For data-protection enquiries, contact privacy@fuertejob.com.

2. Data we collect

Account data — name and email address, provided via Google OAuth or magic-link sign-in.
Profile content — work experience, skills, education and any other sections you enter.
Generated files — CVs and cover letters we produce on your behalf, stored on Cloudflare R2.
Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
Usage analytics — anonymised event data via PostHog (self-hostable, GDPR-safe). No cross-site tracking.
Job applications — when you apply to a job listing we store your application data and any uploaded documents.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Art. 6)

Contract — processing your profile and generating CVs is necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
Consent — analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner.
Legitimate interest — transactional emails and fraud prevention.

4. How we use your data

To authenticate you and provide the service.
To generate tailored CVs using the OpenAI API. Your profile content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing; OpenAI does not use this data for training.
To fulfil payment processing via Stripe.
To send transactional emails (magic-link sign-in) via Resend.
To improve the product through anonymised analytics.
To match you with relevant job listings when you use the job board.

5. Data retention

Your profile and generated CVs are stored for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently erases all associated data within 30 days. Payment records are retained for the period required by applicable tax law (typically 5 years).

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, port, restrict processing of, or erase your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Spain: AEPD). Use the Export My Data button in Settings, or contact us at privacy@fuertejob.com.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and an optional analytics cookie set only with your consent. No third-party advertising cookies are used. For full details see our Cookie Policy.

8. International data transfers

Some of our sub-processors (OpenAI, Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, PostHog) may process data outside the EU/EEA. In each case, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or an adequacy decision.

10. Security

We protect your data with HTTPS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls. Despite best efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it to security@fuertejob.com.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
